Henderson Harbor is a great place to take the family ice fishing. From L to R the Saiff girls (Haley and Cierra) hold Yellow Perch taken on the ice in Henderson Harbor. The children of Bryan and Wendy Flagg ready their Jig rods for a day on the ice with dad. Josh and Joe Thomas heft a beautiful Northern Pike that they took on a small rod jigging for Perch. |
This is what the Pike action is like when the bite is on in Henderson Harbor. Some of the best Pike structure in all of Lake Ontario is found close by in the eastern end of the Big Pond.
David Zangari and Bill VanPernus with a bucket of slab "Stripers" from just in front of the Westview Lodge. Perch fishing is consistent all season in Henderson but don't miss the "Hot Bite" on first and last ice.
| Buckets of Yellow Perch like these are common in the Henderson Harbor, NY area. Anglers can expect Perch in the 7" to 12 " range. Fathead minnows, ice flies and glow jigs in the #8 and #10 sizes are hot at this time of year. At early ice look for Perch in the 8 to 12 foot range. As the season progresses, Perch will move out into the bay onto the 18 to 22 foot edges. |
