Taxidermist John Parsons with a dandy buck taken during September's muzzleloader season!
|
Rattlesnake Creek is one of the finest destinations in the United States for White-tailed deer. Fred Neier controls some 20,000 acres of prime Whitetail habitat in south central Kansas. The buck below was harvested while hunting with Fred's operation in September 2001'. Its not often that I realize I have made a monumental mistake when filming for our "Cabin Country" series. This was the case while filming with Fred!!! - (I shot too early)
After taking my buck I filmed several bucks in the 140-155 inch class. Most of these buck were within 40 yds. of my stands. We were taking advantage of Kansas' September muzzleloading season. This is a great bet for seeing huge deer in unpressured travel patterns. At season's end, Fred's hunters had harvested many trophy bucks including one that would gross in the 170's and another in the 180's.
Rattlesnake Creek also offers superb pheasant and quail hunting. Acommodations are comfortable and Fred's wife Paula puts on a mean feed bag!!!
Call Fred early so that he can help you secure a tag for the upcoming season! |
