John Ray's Thousand Hills Bison gives sportsmen a unique opportunity to experience Bison hunting in Southern Colorado. The hunt takes place in the San Louis valley (the highest alpine valley in the U.S.). The scenery is breathtaking and the hunt takes place on approx. 60,000 contiguous acres.

The Cabin Country team hunted with John in February of 2001'. The program called "A Bison Adventure" aired during the fall of 2001' on Public Television stations across the country. Viewers can see it next season on The Outdoor Channel.

John was a first class outfitter, paying close attention to every detail of the hunt. John's wife Michelle is an excellent cook and we had ample opportunity to sample a variety of Bison dishes. We were lodged at the Mt. Blanca Resort and accommodations were excellent.

We used the Thompson Center Encore chambered in .45-70 on this hunt but we suggest consulting with John before you go. He is a wealth of information on bison hunting!!!
